She's beautiful, but please don't hit her. X's 2. We had a C lab also named CoCo  I would avoid any type of "swatting", or whoopin, but especially on small pups, you can cause joint damage later in life. Especially important on the rear hip joints.

I would be using a newspaper for the swat. It's worked on no less than 6 dogs

Newspaper has always worked great for labs and springers - one page only - the noise was enough to deter them from chewing!

I use a little more than one sheet..but you're right the noise of you messing with the paper gets their attention. Now my kids got the belt...I'm old school. My grankids named her CoCo...I'm glad they didn't have a list of all the rest of those coco's.
