Well this could get interesting. This stuff hit $1 a round last go round and there wasn't even any talk about banning it. The sky is the limit this time.

Post up the price that you are seeing this stuff selling for.

I will start:
Saw Academy had some 150 count boxes of AE for about $75.
Saw some 900 count ammo cans of Rio (from Denmark) for $449 at Academy. (its M855 ammo but does not have green tip)
Saw that CTD had it on their website this morning for $399 per 1K round case of Lake City but its gone now.
Pretty much sold out online everywhere.

Left it all there for someone else.

So lets see how high it goes. Right now the uninflated price seems to hover around $.45-$.50 per round on average. Might be worth its weight in gold before its over.

Yipper, gonna get interesting.

We'll see when it starts showing up here in the classifieds. Any bets on how long that'll take?

Been watching gun broker and saw one 1200 round lot on strippers sell for $1200 already.

If the price gets too crazy I will sell/trade what little I have. I see no reason to burn through ammo that gets that expensive when I could sell or trade it for twice as much 193 ammo.

Whats sad is I am already seeing prices going up on ALL 5.56 ammo and not just the M855. Bet I saw at least 15 cases of 193 ammo at $399 on the shelves today. Bet that will all be sold in a couple of days as well even though its not even on the chopping block.

5.56 is going to be the new 22LR.

The panic is just starting. Funny thing is, it's not a shortage. It's all manufactured panic created by the current administration, it's a calculated move. It's what they are good at, messing with Americans. They create false demand. Watch what happens with 193 and all other types of non-"prohibited" .223/556. There'll be a run on that too, and it'll be at higher pricing. Folks fall for this EVERY damn time and don't seem to learn. Don't buy at the inflated pricing! Can't help but SMDH.

Predictable. Right now, CTD is changing their item #'s again, playing the same game. Hope no one gets burned with an in-process order cancellation this time around.

I'll just sit back and watch this one too.

I have never bought any of the Green -tipped stuff but do like the folks who do and leave me all that brass laying around.

I load it up for .19 cents a round and have a much better round that is actually more all-around useful and probably more accurate.

I never liked this round, so its no loss to me. When I went to Afghanistan the first time, I traded these rounds to the Canadiens for their rounds which had a better tumbling affect. They were still using M16s so the M855 worked better in the longer barrel rifles. There are certainly better rounds to be had, but someone gonna make a killing..

Was at Mesquite Academy and they still had one ammo can left of Rio M855. 900 rounds for $449 on stripper clips. Only reason it was still there is because it was on the shot gun shell ammo shelf and I am sure most people looking of it didn't see it over there.

Looks like the bidding on Gun Broker has slowed way down for now. Even the $.50 per round stuff isn't getting much attention. I would imagine things will take off again about a week before the final announcement is made though. I would also imagine the ammo flippers are probably squirming right now seeing interest fall by the minute.

I"ve not read thru the thread yet and I apologize if anyone has already mentioned it - but hit up your local Wallmarts. They have ZQ1 Turkish SS109 packaged in 30 round boxes for $9.97. Hard to beat .33cpr on the stuff. After the announcement I ran around and picked up 1500 rounds or so of the stuff.

I see 50 cents a round plus whatever shipping is. I'd sell off mine at less than that
