I'm looking for opinions on which of these two scopes would be the better buy. As far as I can tell the features are pretty much the same except the Bushnell has a zero stop and I don't believe the SS does. The price is the same give or take $100.

not exactly. the bushnell hdmr with zero stop is about 1900 dollars. the regular 1200 dollar hdmr doesn't have a zero stop and has 5 mils per turn. Both hdmr's have locking turrets.

Both scopes are japanese.
Mil/mil
Swfa offers illumination for 200 extra
Swfa offers 10 mil non locking turrets
Bushnell is shorter by 1.5 inches
Bushnell has locking turrets
30mm tube in the swfa, 34mm in the bushnell

It really is a pick'em scenario.

Bushnell hands down, the swfa is nice and very serviceable but not near what the Bushy is. yeah the 1900 price tag.. that's stupid MSRP no one pays that, you can be into the 10mil model for under 1600 tops or the 5mil for under 1200

the locking turrets are a much better feature than illumination.

Yeah that's what I'm finding. $1,600 for the ERS which is the 10mil per revolution and $1,200 for the DMR which is 5 mil per revolution. I'm not even sure if I should bother trying to get SWFA to match those prices but if they can I will buy from them.
