Which ones y'all like best? I think I want a bipod style. Going to be used for shooting from a standing position primarily at hogs.

I have several different brands and models but the ones I like best are the Primos Trigger Stick and the Bog Pod. I use the Trigger Stick monopod the most because it is lighter. It works great for me either standing or sitting. I am primarily a handgun hunter but I use it for rifle hunting as well.

I make my own out of Sotol Cactus seed pod stems. Very lightweight, sturdy and cheap..free. Cut to size and these are 6' tall when not opened up. I also have a set with 2 instead of 3.

I like my Primos tripod trigger sticks. They are bulky and heavier, but very stable. A buddy of mine has the bipod version and the head (grip, yoke) is subject to tilting over at the pivot points for the legs. It is still stable once it does, but very annoying when it happens.

I use bi-pod models and have always liked them. No brand specific as they are all about the same.

I make my own. Two pieces of wood joined by a screw with a wing nut and boat trailer carpeting at the top. Less than $4 and 30 minutes invested on each.
They're probably not as good as the expensive ones but they are light weight and fairly stable. I have 4 or 5 of them.

BOG-POD, I feel these are the best. I have several and use them while guiding.

Always thought about sotol. What do you use for the tie? Definitely prefer 3-leg shooting sticks, if I can get them adjusted right. Each set takes practice.

The primos trigger stick tall tripod has been one of the best purchases I have made. It really has spoiled me its fast, light, and easy to use. People hunting with me have shown up with other sticks and ordered these before the hunt was over.

If your going to be standing I would recommend the Tripod version of either Bog Pod or Primos. I have had several of both brands. The old Original Primos was heavy but very steady then the second generation although lighter the legs were not quite as stable and now they are on the third Generation and they are OK. Bog Pod is maybe better but not as quick on the adjustments.

Make your own. I saw this method a few years ago, not sure where, but is one method of making shooting sticks. First get 2 fiberglass electric fence posts from a farm and ranch supply house and a 6" piece of 3/8" ID rubber hose. Total cost less than $5. Tools, you will need a sharp knife or an Xacto knife to cut the hose, a magic marker to mark your cuts and a ruler. You will cut out a portion of the middle of the hose. In the middle mark 2" and 1/3 of the outside diameter of the hose, a 2" long rectangle. This is your cut line. The cut out section removed from your hose. Insert the top of one of the fiberglass poles into the cut opening and slide it about 6" in to the hose. Then do the same with the other fiberglass pole. Cross the poles, and you now have a pair of shooting sticks. To keep them tight and add more stability I add a castration band, these are available at farm and ranch supply houses. Or you can use a heavy duty rubber band. These also serve a dual purpose in that when you move from place to place, you can slide the band down the sticks and it keeps them together so they don't flop around. Supplies and tool list 2 fiberglass electric fence poles 1 piece of 3/8" ID rubber hose 1 castration band or heavy rubber band Magic Marker Sharp knife Ruler

Those a tied with a braided cotton blend cord that I wrap in a figure 8 around each one. I am going to try to use a vacuum cleaner belt on the 2-leg set since I have a leather strap around them. I am know prefering 2-leg in the unlevel ground of West Texas over the 3-leg. I angle them back to me a bit and put the rifle into them and it makes them very solid.

Primos tripod trigger stick for me. It adjusts very fast and works equally well on any surface, level or unlevel..

Was going to post exactly what dog catcher posted. I have a couple of the more expensive dealer made ones and find myself going for my home made every time

I did something like dogcatcher's set up. But I used two old fiberglass arrows, some latex tubing (surgical tubing) from Home Depot and a heavy rubber-band. It is a great height for sitting and shooting. And super light
