ok so i am getting the boot off my deer lease!! i have to be off by May 30th! so i am wanting to take down my deer feeder and turn it into a hog spot!! i dont want to keep feeding te deer and having them come in to the spot. if they want deer they can set up a feeder and start drawing them in!!

my question is i want to turn it into a prime hog spot!! right now i have a few hogs comming into the feeder at night! i want to put out a pig pipe for now..

what will bring in some pigs and hold them?? sour corn, sour wheat, desiel corn, kool-aid corn?? all of the above??

I use a timed feeder to bring them in at a certain time - hopefully...LOL.
Then I have a pair of Feral Crack Pipes to keep them intertained and on location.
I use regular corn, no magic potion and I have tried most of them.

I do only hunt at night so my feeders are set to go off about 2 hours after dark.
They seem to be more at ease in the dark.
Do let the group come in and get comfortable before you start shooting and you will increase your odds.

sam, we all want to know the secret for bringing in and keeping hogs. If there was some sort of super duper method, we would ALL be using it. Sorry, but there just isn't

However, Vern is on to something. Once you draw them in, don't shoot any of them. In fact, just keep feeding them. The more you shoot, the less that will remain and the more that you will drive away. Hogs don't like it when people shoot at them.

Set feeder to throw at night

Hog roll barrels- google it

Hog rubs. Wrap sections of carpet around the base of a tree. Tighten down with bailing wire. Pour creosote or KresoD on the rug.

Burying soured corn. Use post hole diggers

Pour powdered kook-aid on the ground under your feeder. The animals will get the powder on their feet and leave a trail of it leading to the feeder for hogs to find later.

Scout the property near your section of the lease.

Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.

So am I reading this wrong or what? I see the OP saying that he is pizzed that he's getting kicked off his lease and he just wants to make sure that there are enough hogs to make sure that the deer don't come back. Do any of you read it that way or am I just crazy?

Dig a post hole 18 inches deep and fill it with corn. They'll find it and keep coming back until every kernel is gone. You still have hunting rights to the place? I've booted a few over the years and their only remaining right to the place was to come get their stuff. The ramrod shoulda' made that clear. If he didn't that's on him. Best of luck on the pig killing.

yes still able to hunt till may 30th!! they gave me till after turkey season.

we did not get asked to leave becuase of trouble, attitudes or not caring for land. we are getting off because the lease owner is getting to old and kids are taking over. guess grand kids want to hunt on the prop.

Kinda double sided unless you're going to hunt at night, but setting the feeding times to after dark should attract more hogs,(don't do much good unless you hunt at night) along with the things theblakester mentioned. if you dig a hole try to make it narrow and extra deep so the hogs have a hard time getting all the soured corn out from the bottom of it. That way the scent lingers for days.

Well, re-read your post as an innocent bystander and it can appear that way. I've seen plenty of unscrupulous people over the years & many people get very vindictive when getting "booted off" their lease.

So anyways, now that we know that's not your intent. Get yourself a hog trap, much easier.
