I've booked my first ever desert mule deer hunt and I'd like to read-up on these critters and West Texas hunting in general. Any book or magazine recommendations?

Thanks

Mulie hunting in that terrain is a great excuse to upgrade your binos.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

congratulations sir, your gonna have a blast. Be forewarned however that its highly addicting and its possible you will not want much to do with whitetail after this hunt

A good spotter and quality tripod can save you lots of walking to check out bucks at long range also.
