Thanks for all the responses and opinions. I ended up picking up a Vortex Viper PST 6-24 FFP last night for what I believe to be a very good deal. I am excited to see what this setup can do. It will be going on the .308.

The scope can dial farther than the 308 can fly supersonic. You'll like everything about it, except the eye box. It can be some what unforgiving.

Be sure to mount it on a 20 MOA base, that is what it is designed to be mounted on.

I just ordered an EGW 20MOA base. It seemed to get as good of reviews as anything else. I spent over an hour with the dealer and he explained all the features and answered all of my questions about the scope. I was pretty anxious about spending what I consider to be a rather large amount of money, but in the end decided it was worth it. I am happy with the purchase and ready to shoot with it.

for my 308 POF I used the Vortex PST 2.5-10x32. Perfection.
