Looking to make my first night vision purchase. Other than Amazon or bass pro and Cabela’s where is a good place to go? Looking in the $800-1000 range. I know there are lot of post about NV but seems to be hard to find the right ones. thanks in advance

In that budget I would suggest the Pulsar N550A or the Sightmark Photon XT. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

We sell a digital day / night vision clip-on that includes an 850nm IR illuminator starting at $400. It is not your traditional intensifier tube or thermal scope but delivers high quality digital night vision on a rail mounted LCD display included with the system. The monitor can be dimmed and some of our users put a red filter over it at night.

Expect 75 to 100 yards with our DC800 unit which you can read about at Digital Crosshairs 800

The unit pictured above has the optional WiFi transmitter that sends your scope's field of view to any Iphone, Ipad, or Android device for viewing and/or recording.

^^^^This is your guy right here. He'll fix you up with a Photon. For the money ($500ish) it can't be beat.

In your price range you'll find a lot of junk (no offense intended) but there are some good options. Night vision is expensive any way you look at it. If you can save a little longer you could get a gen 3 PVS-7 or lower level PVS-14 for somewhere around 1500 or so used. You would then need an IR laser like a Lasermax to do the shooting. The advantage here is you're using the 7 or 14 to navigate as well as shoot.

I dropped 7 pigs last night on our place using this configuration.

Are you going to want to shoot the same rifle in the daytime or is this strictly an at night only rifle?
