Good afternoon, I have an xsight on my ar and can not get the cross hairs to drop low enough to sight in. At 25 yards it was bottomed out and was impacting about 1/2 to 1 inch high back off to 50 and locked out at about 6 inches high or so. I've had other scopes and iron sights on my rifle and sighted them in just fine. Not sure if the scope is malfunctioning or I can add a raise rail to correct this issue. Looking for some info thanks in advance.

How do you have it mounted? What base/rings. Is the base 0 MOA or 20 MOA? Can you post any pics?

I have it mounted directly on top of the pickitiny rail system on the ar platforms so no seperate base or rings. The xsight is a digital day/night scope and has a factory mounted system to screw straight on the rail system

Normally when you run out of down travel you have a scope mounted to a 10, 20, or 30 MOA base with the rear end kicked up, it'll have lots of up travel to shoot distance, but won't go down low enough for 100 yards. But being you're mounted on a "0" MOA base you shouldn't run out of down travel.

So I think you have a scope problem.

Maybe a dumb question, but do you have a manual for it? I just looked it up and, while the instructions are a bit vague, there is a "Zero set-up" procedure that appears to move the digital reticle within the scope, if I'm reading it right?

• Zero setup — press ENTER to open Zero setup screen (Figure I). With LEFT-RIGHT
and UP-DOWN arrow keys we move the reticle. Press ENTER to fix reticle position. Hold press
Enter to reset reticle position.

edited to add: If that's the "sight in" procedure and you're already out of bottom doing this, then I got nothin'.

No i bought it new and came with no set up instructions I pretty much just figured things out to this point and did not know if there was something I was missing. I have already put in a call to the company but closed till Monday. Hopefully they will have a solution then

You need to read the X-Sight threads on this forum. This is a common problem.

Before going into sight in mode, make sure your scope is at the minimum zoom.In sight in mode, you need to keep the red dot that's in the center of the crosshairs on the center of the target and move the reticle to where your last shot hit the target.
The reticle going out of picture during zoom is a known problem. Most just keep their scopes at 1x-3x and live with it till ATN comes up with a fix in a newer firmware update.
What firmware does your scope have ?
To find that out, go into the menu, scroll down to "setup" and it'll tell you the firmware version.
As was posted before me, go into the .200 + .228 X sight threads and get yourself up to date.

Ok maybe that's where I messed up yesterday sighting it in. I help the dot on the impact and moved the cross hairs back to the center. Sounds like what your saying is that I did it backwards is that correct?

Keep the center of reticle on the center of the target. When you move the crosshairs, there should be a dot there. Keep that dot in the center of the target and move the crosshairs to the last impact.
