We are looking to carry a few AR-10 barrels for DPMS pattern rifles, and I would like some input on what cartridge to order? Specs would vary depending on the barrel. I can only order two barrels, so I'm looking for the most popular.

Thanks!

I would say 308 cause it's the standard and the 6.5 cause it is the new hotness

The question is which market do you want to appeal to?

I said 7MM-08, I just finished an AR10 in that chamber and not a lot places carry a 7mm-08 barrel, it would set you apart from everyone else.

HHUUMMMM, what to write, what to write, I got nothing.

And that's why I was thinking something other than .308 win; it's easy to find one of those in stock many places.

Creedmoor cases because of their slightly shorter length just work better in a mag fed platform.

I voted 6.5 CM. Good factory ammo available and seems to be very popular. I haven't seen that many available in stock, especially not lighter profile barrels for a hunting rifle.

The other thing to consider is replenishment. 308 barrels are far more common...

308 is very common, but the 6.5 CM and 7mm-08 are great AR rounds. The 260 Rem is an awesome round, but you run into mag issues with bullet length. 243 Win is, IMO, too hot for an AR-10.
