The silence may be an indication to the quality of clubs. I have found there are catagories for club members. There is them that pay and a are not in the click. Those people get the scraps. The next category goes to those that have been there for a while and brown nose the operator of the club. They get the better hunting. Then you have the operator and his buddies. They get the planted wheat on fields the other members were never told was part of the club.

And a group lease I would consider a non-profit club. That is your best bet if you want to keep your cost down. And finding a good lease is not easy. And no one on this forum is going to invite you to join their non-profit club, because they do not know you. You find a private lease on the internet and you are going to pay top dollar, and you will find that in the lease forum, if you are lucky. Knocking on doors and finding a land owner that hates computers/internet is your best bet, no easy button finding a good lease for a good price, easy button will cost you.

I'm a member of an all around hunting club in Oklahoma and one of the guys I know that's been a member for quite sometime said the "officers" basically tie up the best turkey place with their "reservation".....somehow they seem to get a jump on it. When he called and complained the next weekend suddenly became available. I hunt weekdays so never an issue with me. Did look at one duck club and they didn't want anybody hunting weekdays so I kept looking.....there are a few waterfowl clubs that look very nice but man are they pricey !!

When you put a pencil to it. Hiring a good guide is the better route than joining a club.At least for us. The guide we use is Awesome. We get there in the am . We load up on the boat to the spot . When we get there all we have to do is shoot good .He already has all the decoys out . Also he will tell us when is a good time to shoot and tell us about how much to lead. For the price you can't beat it.

I do that for my friends for free. How much does this guy charge? Might have to draw up some contracts for next year The out fit I use for ducks includes the guides tip in the price . But for my wife and I it was around $300.00 out the door. Then If I wanted the birds cleaned it was $2.00 a bird. If you would like more info pm me.Now are goose guide is $400.00 a day for my wife and I but the tip is not included and its a allllll day hunt. I'm sure I can duck hunt with a guide a couple times to match a lease . Also keep in mind a lease you have to sometimes have a boat to put you decoys out and you have to set your birds up and some leases have work days. With that being said your time is not free . So you figure all the time you put in and all the scouting you put in before you hunt is worth a bit.Now don't get me wrong I know some people enjoy that . But in this fast past world we live in now these days it hard for some of use to find time.

Pintail farms is the only reputable one I know of, if they are still in business. .
it's been on the market for years- door knocking, networking- you can often find duck holes w Google maps- found many that I have eventually gotten permission to hunt
