Pretty much any hunting bullet for that round that your rifle shoots well will get the job done on hogs. Standard cup and core to premium bullets work on hogs.

I'd be real interested in seeing how some of those 'Hog' rounds do. The reason I mention them is it appears they aren't selling very well at all, mainly to being GROSSLY over-priced, and now most retailers are closing them out to clear space. I think the Remington Hog Hammer rounds were around $50 a box initially and now (may) Walmart was closing them out for less than half that.

Man I am a fan of Remington 150 grain core lockts.
I have been using them most of my life and when I started reloading they are what I started with.
They have never let me down in the last 50 years or so.
When I bought my first deer rifle a Winchester model 94 in 32 Win spl of course I started with Win power points and Silver tips. Never really had a problem with either of them but the my great uncle gave me a custom 1903.
He was real proud of it he did most of the customizing himself. I went down the same road until I started reloading. Now I have it a Ruger 1, the 1903 in 30-06 and a Saiga hunting rifle in 308.
Guess you can say I'm a 30 caliber guy because they never let me down.
I bought lotsa different bullets and powders but keep using the core locts.
I have no idea how many deer and pigs I have killed with them but I do know I never have to do very much TRACKING!!!!!!!!!

I've used the remington hog hunters a few times. The barnes bullet worked well. I try to shoot them in the ear hole, so most bullets do the job. Black Hills 168 grain BTHP work great, too.

I shot a hog the other day with 168 grain hornady a-max. Had a baseball sized exit hole and dropped drt. I won't be using anything else.

All I have used in my .308s and .30-06 is the 150grn Core-locked, and they work wonderfully.

I have a Dpms AR10/308 tried the 168grain "Hog Hammer" 3 rounds only -case stuck in the chamber - last one broke the extractor - not sure if its the nickel
cases or that it is a hotter round & expanding more. Have another friend w/ a name brand ar-10 & hot rounds will stick in his chamber also. Not sure why but I will not shoot them out of my AR-10 anymore. Remington has the R25 platform which is a rebranded DPMS AR10 & says it should shoot them. ???

147-150 grain sp have worked well on pigs for me, never have shot a Boar over 150lb yet, but the pigs I have shot were DRT.
