I'm in the market for a rifle chambered in 460S&W magnum. I know there are a few companies making this in a lever action but I'm not willing to spend thousands. Right now the choice is a TC Encore carbine, but I've never been a fan of those guns, but it is a factory chambering. I would really like a Ruger #1, but that would require an aftermarket barrel .

Does anybody here have experience with this caliber in a rifle? I already have the pistol

The best I can do is tell you to look at an NEF. The Encore's are great guns. I had a 26" 45-70 that would hold 1.5" at 100.

But I'd just buy a Marlin 1895 or Winchester 1886 in 45-70..

I'm not going to rule out the Encore, but if I can find something else that would be better. Not interested in other calipers unless I can find something the will shoot the 45 Raptor

Big horn armory I believe offers it in lever gun form along with the 500.

Yes sir they do, and I should've bought one 3 years ago when they were $1800, they are way more then that now and way out of my price range.

Yeah if there was a auto rifle that could handle those pressures of be in heaven, but it would likely be out of my price range. It seems 65,000psi is a lot

65,000psi is higher than CIP or SAAMI standard pressure for 308 Winchester. Perhaps peak pressure but not average. Usually not a good idea for wildcats to go above the parent case max pressure.

Even if there are no catastrophic failures initially, over time the higher pressure could lead to one. Think Stress Fracture
