So I just got my form 1 stamp back for my 556 sbr and was thinking my next one already. Anybody have a 6.8 sbr with a barrel at like 11.5-12" ? Would use for a hog gun so don't need a long distance shooter.

Check out Bison Armory for short barrels in 6.8

I am about to SBR my Wilson Combat 16". I am going with one of their 11.3" barrels.
That is as short as I would go.
Only AR15 Performance and Noveske makes a 12.5

I went with the 10.5" Noveske polygonal and love it! It's my 3rd barrel from them and each one have been real shooters.

Nice rig Tye I switched from 5.56 to 6.8 a couple yrs ago and I won't go back. Also think SBR's are where it's at Mine really likes the SSA 95 TTSX but I want to try some bigger pills and see what happens if I start reloading.

I've been playing around with hand loading for it. The best group I can get out of it is around 1". I've loaded up to 30 grains if AA 2200 with 95 TTSX and 100 grain Accubonds. I'm getting some pretty bad ejector swipes. Going to have to lower the powder charge I guess. With these loads, I'm producing 2700 FPS. It's pretty loud even with a can. My 223 pretty much stays in the safe now between the 6.8 SPC and my 6.5 creedmoor

Nice! If it's cool, I may shoot you a PM when I start reloading and bend your ear a bit. Never done it before but I'm getting close.

Sure. I'm no expert. It seems there is not a lot of data on the 6.8. I've used the 68 forum to get started. They have a reloading section on that site with tons of info. I went to the ranch today to do some load development. I'm experiencing some bad swipes. With an AR, there are many factors/ corrections for this issue. Usually it's a sign of pressure issues. I'm still researching it. http://68forums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?56-6-8-SPC-Ammunition-amp-Reloading

I built my 6.8 Seekins last year, and wish I would have SBR'd it. May look at doing so still once I complete my 5.56

I have been running 6.8 for years. great hunting round.. Spent a lot of time with the 95 TTSX and have been running the Hornady 120SST factory load as well.. They both work great.

I took my rifle to my gun builder(Lonestar armory) to see if we could correct some of the swipe issues that are common with this caliber. We added a SLR adjustable gas block, a full auto rated m16 JP bolt carrier and a new rounded ejector from JP( I bought a new JP 223 bolt that has the rounded ejector and switched the ejector in my 6.8 bolt). I'm also running a red spring and H3 buffer. These corrections have cut down on the swipes even after a 10 round mad dump with a can. The load I was running was 29.5 grains of AA2200 with the 95 TTSX. Gas guns can't seem to handle the pressures compared to bolt guns.
