I haven't looked over the regs for south Texas in a long time. 'Noticed that Webb is a 3 buck county now. It seems like it was one buck years ago. What's TPWD's reasoning behind this? I doubt many places are going to let each hunter take 3 bucks off a place.
All help appreciated.

Been 3 bucks for many, many years. We hunt Webb/Zapata county line and it's been 3 buck for at least 25 years that I can recall..We don't ea. harvest 3, more like 1-2 but you conceivably could.

Management reasons. You get to use up to 5 tags of which no more can be 3 antlered. You might be surprised how many landowners allow you to use all your tags. Not every buck will be what they consider a trophy. A lot of ranches are over CC also. If (that proverbial "if") we ever get back to normal rainfalls then numbers rebound very quickly and 5 tags might not be enough on many ranches.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?
