I got my salvo 12, and it is great. But it is Heavy at the end of the barrel. You can shorten it (it is modular), but I'm going for maximum sound suppression. So I'm thinking of ways to shorten things up, let me know what you think about these options:

1. go with one of the 870 bull pup kits. You keep your chokes, 18.5 inch barrel and has 28 inch overall length. This is probably the shortest overall option

2. file a form 1 for a short barreled shotgun, find a 14 inch barrel or less or find a gunsmith to cut one down and thread it for chokes (anyone know a gun smith that will do that?). Having trouble finding someone to do this.

3. Other options?

Thoughts please

Thanks, Todd

Rose Action Sports will chop your barrel and thread for chokes for $75 with return shipping. Quick turn around too; I had my barrel back the same week I shipped it off.

The bullpup shotgun is nice, my buddy built one. After putting the barrel or action so close to your ear I'm not sure which it is, but if you don't shoot it with hearing protection it will make you go deaf quick. I normally don't shoot shotguns with hearing pro, because they boom of the shotgun normally doesn't hurt my ears like rifles or pistols, but I shot his bullpup and ran a quick magazine of shells through it. They were 3" duck loads and I couldn't really hear for a day or so after that. Of course that was just my stupidity, but I think a suppressor on a bullpup would be the way to go for sure. Some one posted a picture from shot show this year with a bullpup suppressed with the Salvo 12 I'll see if I can find it.

Here is the picture, but it looks like a dedicated short barreled shotgun or integral suppressed with the Salvo built into the bullpup design.

That's the Cyre revolving shotgun that was paired up with the 6" Salvo. It's been at the last two Shot shows and still has 3d printed plastic parts on the proto type so it will be awhile before it comes out.

Ahhh yea that's what it was. Looks awesome, not sure why more firearm makers don't make bullpups. They are short, but keep the longer barrels in a smaller package which elevates having to get a tax stamp for a SBR and also keeps the original FPS out of the 16-18 inch barrels. I know Keltec has, but they are hard to find and people want over new street prices for them. Wish other gun makers would follow suit.
