During hunting season I go through a lot of batteries. I've never paid much attention as long as I'm using Eveready or Duracell for feeders, cameras and flashlights.

Then I noticed Evereadys advertisement that they are as good as Duracells. To me, that sounds like a losing advertisement.

So, since the price is the same, is there a reason to not just go to Duracells instead of "good as" batteries?

I and my customers have gone through millions (really) of AA batteries back in my PageNet days. I observed that Evereadys rarely leaked and ruined my pagers but Duracells leaked much more often. My pager techs hated them. We bought Evereadys factory direct by the pallet. They cost us 19 cents each in that quantity.

I have no test experience. I just use a LOT of batteries on cameras and feeders. I've not noticed any real difference.

I have used Duracell and Evereadys and never had one leak in summer heat(100+). They outlast Rayovacs by a long shot. Have had Rayovacs leaked twice in two of my TC and ruined them. I prefer Duracell since they seem to fit in the battery holder better, more snug.

I had the same problem, once, with a Rayovac. Actually, I pretty well use either Duracells or Eveready. With 6 feeders and 6 TC's, I eat a lot of batteries. I won't buy anymore TC,s that use AA's. With 8 of them, it seems that one of the eight always fails earlier than the others.

I'm going all solar solid state power sources for winches, feeders, feeder lights, and covert 3G cams. Using high end interstate ups batteries and TSC large trolling motor batteries. It takes some doing, but I'm going for near zero maintenance.

I haven't had any real trouble with batteries. never had one leak that had some charge to it. I have been using the lithium's on my 2 TC's and also tried regular alkaline, can't really tell any difference in longevity, but sure can see a difference in price.

I love the Li batteries they do last longer but from a cost perspective it's hard to beat CostCo's brand of alkaline batteries. Consumer Reports lists them as a "Best Buy".
