recently my Wild Game feeder timer, which replaced the first one that died, also died. Very irritating. Happened to be in Gander Mtn and saw a new model from the same people (what was I thinking). I bought it, wired it in, programmed it (super big pain to do), and it never worked even one time. Not once. Not even once.
So,if you see a Wild Game unit that is sort of semi-triangular and red in color, do not spend money on it.
I went online and spent way more money for one that was highly rated. Pray for me. I could stroke out if this one is no good.

I have stayed away from anything from WGI for quite a while. The temptation is to save a couple of bucks but I personally haven't found anything from them that works consistently.
Their cameras are border line junk. Of course, so are a lot of the others. I sometimes wish that I would just write big checks for good, dependable, battery operated stuff.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

603 If you spend a little more and go with an HCR or "The Timer" you will not be disappointed both are quality.

Ditto, my experience as well. 603 If you spend a little more and go with an HCR or "The Timer" you will not be disappointed both are quality. Those are good ones, but I have been using a "sunslinger" now for 9 years and know of a couple that are 15 years old and still going. I have had to add a new solor panel on mine.

I have ordered The Timer. I'm tired of going with stuff that doesn't work, and this one seems well recommended.

We use "On Time" lifetime feeder motors, have been using the same ones for about 12 yrs. Only had two issues so far out of five feeders. On both issues, contacted "On Time", and all I had to pay was I think a $6.00 shipping charge and they sent me the replacement parts. Units are easy to work on for part replacement. Gave about $80.00 apiece for them. Heavy duty construction, not the thin sheet metal boxes. Easy to mount to a barrel or whatever you use for a storage bin. Easy to set time and feed length time. Number of feedings can be adjusted simply by adding another trip trigger on the clock dial. They operate off 11 AA battery, one for the clock, and ten for feeder motor operation. Batteries will run the unit for 10-12 months before needing replacement. Very satisfied with them and there service/warranty.

Bad news. I got The Timer and hooked it up and programmed it and the darn thing won't work. Smells hot, like burning plastic. Won't test throw. I went direct from the battery to the motor contacts and the motor ran fine. It isn't the motor or the battery. Good Lord! I am a teensy bit upset and frustrated. I'll call them on Monday.
cm250, all my other corn feeders are from On Time. And I have those lifetime analog units like you do. Can't say enough good things about them. When they quit, I just slap in the new parts and off we go for a couple more years. I went to college in Ruston, Louisiana, where the main office is, so when I'm in the area I'll just drop in and get a few things or swap out any parts (for free) that have died. I've got an extra thrower, but I don't see a way to attach it to the bottom of this big Wild Game tripod feeder.

Never mind. I just figured that the timer couldn't be bad, so I had another couple of looks at everything and checked wiring and I had a bad connection. I think I'm Ok now. Might have a beer.
