No one wants to take a stab at what I could get for it?

Unfortunately you have a $500 gun and have spent a fortune on it making it shoot. You will never come close to getting your money back. Any offers you get will likely just make you mad so I'd say put it in the back of your safe and save it for an elk hunt or some other large game. You can have the barrel cut down if you don't like the weight.

I realize I am going to take a huge loss -- I spent that money knowing that -- it was just a learning experience for me. So $700.00 including scope?

No, you'll do better than that. But I got nearly $500 less for my Savage than I expected a few months ago. Mine was similar in value to yours, but in a .270

I'm guessing you'll get $1000 for a 116 with timney, aftermarket trigger, barrel, and scope.

And I've got Forster dies -- I believe the ones with the micrometer seating die -- plus about 120 cases, and 100 or so bullets. I think I'll work at getting a really excellent shooting load and then put it up for sell before deer season.

I am no expert but i had this problem once wit ha sued 222 i bought no matter what we did it just through the shots every were different amo hand load no mater what we did it was all over the place it it in to a smith he said the barrels was shot from someone hot loading rounds lucky we lived in a small town and they guy let me exchange it for stevens that is supper accurate even for being an older gun it wa less money so he gave me store credit and i pick up a scope for it there is some good advise up there and lot more knoll on gun then i can remember but it might be worth checking out i know know the history of the gun how long you had it if it was used how well it was taken care of it it was ever over heated I did this once or twice with a 240 while deployed the barrels still shot they just didn't shoot straight

conifer how hard is it to install a timney trigger the gun smith told me that the the custom tigers he does are much better i have on on my sevens 30-06 because i tried to alter it my self and messed it all up just a bump it would go off so my father put an adjustable after market in there it feels nice and crisp like its busting glass but do you think they are as good as a good customer trigger job i compared my 243 to it and i really cant tell the difference other that i can never add with to the trigger housing if i wanted to

Oh, I forgot to mention, after I switched out the stock to B&C, after a while I had the action full-length bedded. This made absolutely no difference in group size. I've read it often doesn't, that the main purpose is to ensure the action goes into the stock the same every time. But, if something is WRONG with the stock contact with the action it can make an improvement. Obviously, there was nothing wrong with the way the new B&C stock fit the action.
