I took my son on his first quail hunt this year. Dogs pointed 7 coveys between 8-10:30 am on 2/1/15. It was a great hunt with good friends and great dogs.

That pointer looks a lot like my Cracker. What's the breeding?

Not sure of breeding, the gentleman had got the dogs from his cousin out of Victoria. He has had both dogs since they were puppies. One dog was 7 the other was 2 or 3. His cousin used to guide and run a lot of dogs in South Texas.

We have been mainly deer hunting out there, we do have more quail than the past 4 or 5 years. We are going to wait one more year. If we can have another year like the last it should be great.
