SamSam, here's my take on it based on nearly 40 years of hunting. Expectations are 99% of the game. If during leasing negotiations/discussions, it was mentioned orally or even in writing that the landowners on occasion may or could be out there hunting, then full disclosure has been rendered. On the other hand, if it was not mentioned or more importantly you proactively asked if "you and the other lessors would have exclusive and sole hunting rights to it, then that is a horse of a different color. That said, I would still likely let "cooler heads" be the rule of the day and talk it out with the landowner to see if that will be the "new norm" and if it is and you're not comfortable with it, then time to "pack it on". Life is too short and precious to fixate on things which can be moved off of, IMO..

I wasn't suggesting you planned to demand anything. I was responding to others that were advising you to take that stance. I agree that if they retain the right to hunt the land and lease a spot to you, then your personal stands and feeders should be reserved for you, unless there is an agreement that everyone furnish X stands and X feeders for community use. A gentlemanly conversation should clear up the problem, or give you a clue that these guys aren't treating you respectably.

Leaving their trash and beer bottles, would tell me about their respectability. They clearly don't give a flush

I agree. Any type of A-hole that leaves beer bottles & tash in someone else's deer stand is a prick.

Sam, please keep us updated with what happens.

You're going to threaten legal action against me because a member of my family is entering the property I own? You're going to be a complete pain in MY arse? I'll refund your $1,000 or whatever it is that you paid that you think gives you the standing to made demands of ME with regards to MY property, and I'll show you where to get off.

Funny, you call it a pittance, but ive yet to meet the LO that would consider giving the pittance back...

And to the "who in the heck they think they are to make demands etc..." Well they are the ones you leased your property rights too. Yeah that's what gives them rights. And he said he was on the lease with 2 others, assuming they are paying the same that comes out to $5.77 an acre total. That's when you know you have a chitty landowner, when they lease a portion of the rights to someone else and then act like they can still do whatever they want. You cant lease an office building to a company and then hold your own office in that space, so why does it make sense to lease your property to someone else for hunting and then you get to hunt it too?

And like the first response said, don't deal with second parties, deal with the landowner.

There's not enough money to make me want to lease out our place. First time I found ANY trash I'd blow a gasket.

This is about leasing it to hunters and then bringing all your family in, not trash.
