Can anybody tell me what the beginning and max loads are for this bullet for HS-6 powder? My Hornady book only shows 230 grain bullets.

I figured if the 230 grain bullets minimum is 6.7 grains then I could use that and I should be good, correct?

The starting load for a 230 grain hornady FMJ is 8.0 gr and the max is 8.2 gr. Looks like a small tweak with that powder means a big change. I wouldn't jack with it unless I knew.

If you are looking at the .452", 250 grain XTP bullet, it was not designed for the 45 ACP. It was designed for the 45 Colt revolver. It may have trouble feeding, and the COAL should be too long if you seat it on the cannelure ring. If you do try it, chamber check it and start low work up.

Maybe I'll get the 230 grains and a set of 45 colt dies. Then I'll have the right bullets for the 45 auto and I can load for my 45 colt. Probably the best idea, and the safest.

If it's the XTP for a Colt revolver it should have canalure on bullet for roll crimp.
