hopefully I get the first few rounds down her this weekend...... if she gets anything north of 2700fps w/ those bergers it will be tough for me to hold on to my 308.......

Based on everything I've seen I'd have to agree with that statement.

Good looking rifle, congrats.

Awesome rifle. I have really wanted to build one on a surgeon. They were non existing when I built my rifle. But now with the new actions that came out this year I can't make up my mind. I think the new gap temptest looks interesting.

cheers

Let me know what you think once you run those bergers. Went together really nice. Not in love with the way surgeon does their extractor, and bolt assy but should be a solid shooter.

The Teptest and new Mausingfield both have my eye for a build.

2700 with 168gr should work if not you will be really close.

It was done like that when we got it, but that would be super easy to do if you were thinking something like that in the 22 creed

I'd personally have a hard time having a hunting gun built by y'all without that wide wicked twist done to the barrel. grin

I just love the looks of that....to bad I view barrels like bullets and won't spend the extra to have one twisted Horizon wicked style.

I just had to get the gun back for load development and I'm flip flopping on if I should run it at the Bushnell Brawl or just run my AW.... all depends if I can get a load worked out.....

Last night I put some rounds together 5thou off the lands put me at 2.73oal w Berger 168 classic hunter

Initial loads looking promising, only had 3 to shoot as I used most rnds for the Chrono

Varget 41.5grns 2663 .422 not to shabby

Varget 42.0grns 2693 .551 so far so good

I still testing H414, which is producing much better velocity but the grouping is sporadic... 2 in 1 hole and the 3rd an inch off... very random.

I going to bump the varget load .3th and play around a bit more with the H414 then put some rnds on paper at 300

Good shooting but scratch on the measurement of groups, why subtract the diameter when caliper is set to center to center of bullet holes. confused2
