Searched for one for a Ruger m77 mk2 and found no left hand models. Gonna be awhile before it is complete due to keeping customers first but I may start making them for Remmy 700's as well. Anyone have any of these "tactical chassis" already and have any suggestions on what to add or take away?

CNC and Manual. Im using 6061 aluminum 2x3 sqaure bar. I cant decide if I should use and existing butt stock like an xcr or mill own adjustable... BTW my FIL is doing most the work as im full time elsewhere and a green machinist.

Thanks GLC. I like the minimalist style there. I was thinking on a bench style chassis but not so wide and bulky as some ive seen. Which AR Buttstock did you go with? Ive put AR's together and only upgraded to low level magpul and there still alot of play in them. Seems like that play would effect accuracy

It is the lightest modular AR rifle stock on the market, but you'd need the extra $50 adaptor to put a fixed stock on it. Looking at 1.2 pounds for the stock and 1.6 pounds for the chassis system. that is only a 2.8 pound full chassis not bad. Here is a pic of the MBA

I am waiting for the first Skeletal butt stock that is coming out from MDT. You can see what it looks like on the MDT web site. Will ship first week in Feb. I also ordered a butt stock from the Mako Group that works pretty well not the one in the pic. I checked Mako Group site to show which one but their site is down. KRoyal is correct, in order to use a fixed buttstock you need one of their adapters. If you use a regular a3-a4 butt stock it attaches the same way as a regular AR without adapter. Also changed pistol grip out. At first I canabilized an AR just to see how it all worked together. This is a Savage action

This is interesting.
Magpul is soon to release a chassis system/stock for the R700 that is supposed to weigh around 2.5lbs. Hope they follow suit with one for the Savage 10/110.
They are also soon to release mags (Short action) that will work with AI bottom metal and be priced around $30 in lieu of the $100 or so that AI mags cost. The cost of AI mags is what has kept me from doing the conversion on my rifle...

Plans are to start making and selling these for alot more guns than what are offered right now. Getting the first one out of the way and improving upon the base will be awhile but I hope to pad my pockets with a lil more greenbacks with this venture. Keeping my hopes low but my goals high lol. Saves from disappointment ya know....

Any complaints on anything other than weight on the chassis you guys own and use already. All input will be greatly appreciated.

Have it made to work with most avaliable, least expensive mags. I do believe that weight is the most critical issue to consider. Here is the newest model that is going into production. Newest chassis design

Newest chassis design I wouldn't mill the mag catch/design into the chassis. Make this an option with different "bottom metal" where purchaser can choose which mags they want to use. I wouldn't want to be stuck with one design and the mags for that design to not be reliable/wanted by the buyers. Give them the choice on what mags they want to run. Then if they change their mind later and want to try a different mag, they just need to buy the correct bottom metal piece. AR mags AI mags Factory Rem/Savage mags etc...

If it is like Manners stocks, you buy the stock for 5 to 8 hundred and then you have to pay another 250 to 300 for the bottom mag plate. Afraid if you did this it would price him out of the market. Two of the main reasons that I went with the MDT Chassis was weight and price.

I agree cost is the factor.
If you can keep the cost down on the chassis system and keep it where the different mag wells/bottom metal were in the $40-$100max range, that would be ideal.
As with anything, you have to figure out the cost of mfg vs profit. If it costs as much to make as what most buyers would pay, then it's not profitable and not worth doing.
For me, the interchangeable mag well/bottom metal would be ideal if reasonably priced.

The stock i was mocking up for me was gonna be heavy and use up alot of material and still the cost of material was loooooow. 25 dollars and some change for our cost! Labor under 100... Couldnt believe it... ill see what we can do. May need to see one of your two rifle chassis, or both to see what we can come up with. Im all about the best function for lowest price. We should be able to beat the big guys by a mile

The KRG are the most comfortable I've handled I was wondering why everyone is going light? Reasons for each fellas? That grip style on the KRG looks like you need some bear paws to reach the trigger? Is it not that bad in person? Why woukd a round forend be bad with a bipod?
