Started off by hitting El Paso in the once in a blue moon snow storm so drive was miserable but finally got to the Wendy Lou on Friday, met Mike and proceeded to have a phenominal afternoon seeing the Wendy Lou and taking a huge red hind for the freezer. Really felt at home with Mike, the ranch is absolutely beautiful and for this size hind you can't beat the price!!! just a great trip and highly recommend Mike & the Wendy Lou Reserve!!

Mike and I put it on a Cabela's hanging scale after field dressing and it said 180 but both of us think that was a little light. She was dang big and I'm 6' and #225 so you can see size comparison.

Looked good size. I would of guessed around 250 in the pic. Sounds like it might of been more. Congratulations on your hut.

Glad to hear Mike is still there at Windy Lou! I used to manage a place about 3 miles down the road from him and actually bought one of the hind hunts from the Stephenville DU banquet one year for my wife. We had a great time out there and took a nice hind for the freezer.

Looked at the website and I was wondering about the price. Is there a minimum amount of days at the daily rate? And one last question, how hard would the hind be to take with a handgun, meaning about 50-75 yd shot?

We hunted at Wendy Lou. Excellent hunt for Red Stag spike. It might be difficult to get within 50 yards as these animals are born and live on this 5,000+ acre ranch. If you are willing to do some walking and stalking you might be able to accomplish it. We had one of the best hunting experiences at the WLR. They also have an awesome lodge.
