Got to take a good friend out with me to Big Iron Ranch Adventures recently.
He has been wanting a good fallow for a while.TheRancher here on the forum had what he was looking for as usual. We arrived super early and ole rancher had coffee and breakfast ready. We decided instead of sitting in a blind over a feeder we would brave the weather. We jumped in the ranger and headed out when it was light enough. We came up to second feeder and found 3 fallow bucks, numerous does, some blackbuck, black ram, and 3 4-horn rams.
By the time we decided which fallow we wanted he put real estate between us. Bobby couldn't get steady at 250yds. We opted to try ad get a little closer. That was a fail this fallow was no dummy.
He took off to the other side of the valley. We cut him off really quickly with Ranchers driving ability. We were able to get stop in time before he dropped down into another draw. Bobby settled the crosshairs on his shoulder for a high shoulder shot and squeezed the trigger. Fallow ran like hell was on his butt. After looking for any signs of a hit for a while we decided it was a clean miss. At that point we decided to regroup back at the lodge (FYI one of the best views you will find) threw out clothes in the dryer had some more coffee and headed back out. We knew the general direction he went off to. We found him in the creek bed with his running buddy. This time Bobby's aim was true with a great double lung/upper heart shot. Fallow ran 20 yards and piled up.

My quarry for the day was one of these-4horn, black Hawaiian or sika.
Finally had my chance at a 4horn. What should of been a easy 40yd shot for me, I completely blew.
I settled my 4th pin on the vitals and tripped the trigger on my Mathew Monster. Confident on a solid hit I watched in shock as my arrow flew safely over his back. I had a blonde moment at that point and realized I had settled my 50yd pin on his vitals.
That was fail #1 on me
Fail #2
We finished cleaning the fallow and was sitting in lodge when a great herd of animals made there way past the lodge. Not one to ever go home empty handed I got a go ahead for a tasty blackbuck doe. Threw my release on and headed outside to sling a arrow thru the vitals of the tasty animal. I could smell the smoked backstrap!
This time I have no excuse other than I sucked at that moment. Lol
Target panic sat in as I released my arrow at a easy 30yd shot and watched in disgrace as my arrow flew unharmed right over her back.

A little disgusted Rancher assured me I would get another chance in short order. 5 mins later it happened. We had a herd of animals (blackbuck, whitetail and fallow) not sure the head count but let me tell you it is a joke trying to single out 1 animal to shoot and have a clear safe shot.
Finally after pulling my bow back at least 100 times I found a lone doe stand still long enough at 23 yards! This time I did everything right and blew my 350 maxima/g5 montec combo thru her boiler room. She left a blood trail Ray Charles could of followed. As I put my bow down Bobby couldn't stand it he had to have one with a bow.
So as they all settled back down Bobby got to do the same dance I did as Rancher and I laughed the entire time. He found a good ole doe at 20yds and blew the arrow thru her pump station. Once again heck of a blood trail!
Both of them fell in sight.

Thank you Rusty for a awesome time as always!

Thanks to The Rancher and New Jeep for an awesome adventure. By far one of the best hunts I've ever been a part of. The Rancher did everything possible to make sure you get on your animal. Looking to finish my slam off soon with a sika
