I just got a new diesel 4010 Mule and need to add a gun rack for 2 guns. I'm looking at the Sure Grip and Gator-Gripp systems. I prefer an overhead rack as I think it would keep my guns out of the elements better and save space. What recommendations does everyone have?

Thanks for the feedback. They look very similar to the Sure Grip rack I was looking at. I'm Glad to get first hand knowledge from both of you. I don't want to be a guinea pig and I trust both of you on what works well. Thanks guys, I'll go with the Bigsky.

Yours looks like it is mounted directly to the top. My top is plastic. Their website shows what looks like a mounting unit that clamps onto the cage tubing. Your setup is exactly what I want to do. I think it will provide the best place to both protect my guns and give quick access to them. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

My roof is metal. I did the same on a homemade roof that I made out of plywood.

they do come with a mounting bracket - make sure to really tighten it down - with the vibration and bouncing in your RTV they can loosen pretty easily. I also suggest velcro straps - the grips work but again with the bouncing etc the gun can work its way out. I have the exact same set up and I really like having my guns up and out of the way but I can get to them quickly if needed
You can't fix stupid

X3 I have a Bigsky in my truck and love it. Very secure if mounted properly. Love having my rifles up out of the way and like the quick easy access. Doesn't take but a second to pull the velcro strap and have the rifle out of the window. Also have a two gun floor mount on my buggy (cart). It did vibrate and move too much for my liking but was easy to fix/support with a piece of 1" aluminum angle and a few bolts.

I have both the big sky rack and Kolpin boots. I prefer the enclosed boot because it is dusty at the lease. Besides, I had the big sky drop a rifle in my lap when the velcro let loose. I know it was user error, but the rifles can't fall out of the Kolpin.
The big sky is nice if you like a rifle ready to grab. So I use both.

I'm about to order the Bigsky rack but had a question. I went to the lease last weekend and had my gun on the seat with me. Dust was not bad due to recent moisture but my gun really collected a lot. Do any of you use a gun sock? If it's this bad now, I can only imagine how it will be in August after a month of no rain. Thanks for your input.
