Justin Wilson a guide with Bullzeye shot this sweet mallard this evening.

I asked his permission to post it on here to see what y'all thought?

Has anyone seen one with a bill that color?

Just recently, it's a Mallard but with a rare color mutation for the bill. More common in Europe but still rare. My understanding is that they are 100% mallard.

That's awesome! If it were me, that sucker would be going straight to the taxidermist.

Nothing on it (from that pic) except the bill has a different color than the average Mallard. Put a mallard in the fridge for a week or two and his bill will turn the same color pretty much. It still would be a cool looking bird coming into the spread. Congrats on a nice bird!

Are you saying if he had been in freezing weather for awhile, the bill would be orange?
