I'm currently in the market for an e-collar for my new GSP pup. I really just need an e-collar for training right now, but ran across this GPS unit that was on sale. My question is pretty ignorant but is this unit purely a tracking unit or does it also give you the features a electric collar does for training? Im sorry for such an ignorant question.

I believe that is only a tracking unit. It's not a training collar.
If you're hunting a string of dogs everyday, you might need it.

Check Garmin's Delta Collar system or maybe a trainer by DT Systems.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Thanks guys, I thought so but just wanted to make sure because even to me its a good price. I think Ive settled on the Garmin Tri-tonics Pro 550 as my training collar. It has both vibrate and beep and looks pretty user friendly so I wont have to take my eyes off Amos to work it
