sorry, didnt know where this would go so i decided to put it somewhere that had to do with shooting. anyways, i was watching the hunting channel with my buddy a while ago, and they had a show, showing some people at a "shooting school" seemed to be what i need, being new to actual rifles and what not. anybody know of one near san antonio? i have alot to learn, MOA, climate, Coriolis effect, grains, lead shape, etc. etc. so does anybody know about one? would appreciate the input! i would just youtube, but i cant learn very well like that...

San Antonio is a long way but I would suggest FiremanJG from the forum here. He'll have you banging steel out at 800 yards in no time. Great guy to deal with and very knowledgable on the long range game.

Save your lunch money and make the trip to Wolfe City. You will get your money's worth and more. Take notes and ask questions. Jason will help you with anything in his power.

Not to take anything away from Jason but his class might not be in line with the style of shooting you are wanting to do. What is your end goal if going long range then he will be great.

If he is talking about the Coriolis effect then I'm guessing he is talking about long range shooting. Unless he just heard the term used on the movie Shooter LOL.

Whoa! I teach how to make tiny holes at 100, or shoot kneeling, or from a bench, or from a tailgate, or....

Just saying it might not be in line, don't get your panties in a twist. I understand fundamentals are the same but there are still different perspectives on it.

Rifles Only is one of the best and biggest training facilities in the country. No doubt they are awesome and to my knowledge really cater to the military/tactical type stuff.

JG will be a fraction of the cost and provide you with great information...the best part is if you know what you want to accomplish tell him and he'll cater his class to what you are wanting to learn. The other cool thing that would be SUPER expensive every where else is Jason does his 1:1. It's really not a "class" from the practical point of view it is a "class" material but you get 1:1 attention throughout your entire time.

this is why i love this forum haha and yeah, i want to do long distance coyote hunts. so i imagine wind has alot to do with stuff, its just some lead going downrange so it cant be impervious to wind once its out there in yardage! and JG depending on how much it will cost, and how long it will be, may have to be near the end of june, or beginning of july. just so that i have time and money. college isn't very kind to the pocket book.

I wouldn't rate Rifles only as the best. There are many good places to go to get training. Rifles only, NTRP, fireman on here, K and M in baker flordia, and the list goes on and on.

well i was hoping to find a place around san antonio, since its about an hour away (45-60 mins. depending on traffic) don't need anything super fancy, just the fundamentals and a little bit of long range logic. its rare for anybody to be born a natural 700yds+ bullseye shot. so i want some instruction on what to do and how to deal with different things when shooting. as much as i hate coyotes, have to make the kill humane.
