That magazine is kinda neat. Definitely different.

I'm not sure what it has over 9.3 Brenneke ? (SVDK's are chambered in this, not that we can have them)

(or 338-06, .35 Whelen, etc etc)

Hell, I'd be happier with an AR10 in anything from .260 or 7-08 to .338 Federal than a straight pull 9.3x62

Nothing wrong with that ... I shoot a boring Bolt Action in a boring old .375H&H derived caliber myself :-)

But I'd be lying if I said I haven't dreamed about rebarreling a Garand to .338-06, putting it in a Sage EBR stock and mounting a scout scope to it.

I have a Ruger Hawkeye African in 9.3x62 and its a hell of a cartridge. Not a "magnum" cartridge but it gets the job done very well without making you pay in recoil. Its the African equivalent of the 30-06 in the states. I really like mine, has slain many large hogs and deer, haven't used on black bear or elk yet.

I've never found am AR to be easy carrying or as easy to shoot accurately as a bolts action wearing a classic stock.

I don't find them comfortable to shoot or easy to carry. But if you have carried one for any period of time as part of your job or shooting in matches you find they are quick, they are tough and they are accurate. A very versatile shooting platform and mine bounces around in the truck and the electric lease cart with an abandon I wouldn't have for a wood stocked rifle.
