Took a trip a couple of years ago to the Tongass National forest which is in Southeastern Alaska and got quite a few closeups of blacks and brown bears feeding on salmon. The last 2 pics are the grizz. Most pics were taken under 50'.

Not a bit of aggression...just wanted to eat fish. I think the grizz had a little moma grizz he wanted more than fish. I had a 375H&H ready if they decided to change the menu.

BillyBob, that looks like Anan Creek, just a short float plane flight from Ketchikan or Wrangell. If so, I've been there twice, and it's the only place I've ever witnessed blacks and grizzlies fishing in harmony.

Good stuff, and thanks for sharing.

Close....Most of those pics were taken at the mouth of Anan Lake flowing into Anan Creek. We float planed into Anan Lake... there is a cabin and a skiff you can rent for $20 bucks a day. Great fishing! I loved it...the other half hated it. Bears scratching on the cabin walls at night, outhouse, all the girly girl whiney things. We hiked down to the wildlife observatory but they wouldn't let me in carrying my .375

Great photos! For some reason the colors and their contrast just seem to be so vivid up north.
