No we left because land owner had family that wanted to start hunting. So we got the boot! Life of being on a lease. But uncle did get invited along with the land owner to the TPW Big Game Awards for a Deer that he shot on the place. Deer was a record for fisher county at the time. I would love to be back on the place just for the simple fact that the big boys are there. Don't know how. The soil was real sandy and not much grass. But we have a great place now in runnels. Totally different deer.

Spades, we hunt in S.W. Fisher and between five of us have taken a 152" (me), a 144", (me), a double drop tine (son), a low-mid 150's (BIL), and several others in the 140-155" range. A buddy of mine shot a massive 173" 11 pt. about 10 miles from our place over in Jones Co. One important thing to note though, there wasn't a single entry in TBGA for Fisher, Jones, Taylor, Runnels, etc. for the 2014-2015 season, and we're guessing that it's due to the drought finally catching up to the genetics. I shot a 4.5 yr.old 8 that might go 125" this year and my BIL shot the aforementioned low 150's 10, but we just aren't seeing the numbers or the racks that we've seen in years past.

Thanks for all the information guys, keep it coming. Sounds to me like there is a lot of potential in that area. Seems like the numbers may be down due to EXTREME drought and low fawn survival back around 2010 and 11. Hopefully with more rain this year it will be recovering. I hope the neighbors are stewards and not meat hunters. Wish me luck with that. Thanks again and keep that info coming.

Toolman....Whose place did the 173 11pt come off? We hunt the shinnery country over in Jones off 1812 and our deer seem to be on the decline. I think the drought along with people not letting anything walk is finally catching up to us.

You guys that hunt out there would know best, but I think the deer are still there despite the drought. Hang in there. You said you have a water meter, that's a big plus.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

I don't know who owns the place and I don't know if the guy wants it to be public knowledge, but he's a member on here.
