So first a little back story. I am 31 years old and only had seen one bobcat in the wild previously and i have been hunting since i was 6. I did not shoot her cause she was playing in a scendero with what appeared to be 3 kittens so i watched for half an hour or so. The new lease we are on landowner has cattle and has asked us to shoot any predators on sight. So January 3rd in Live oak county i am sitting in my favorite stand and it gets to be about 1130. I start packing it in to go in for some lunch as its rainy and cold and i could use a little warmth. As i am packing my backpack up i catch movement out the corner of my eye and low and behold its a bobcat so naturally..................

So i am stocked and start figuring out my mount and so forth and get her back and on ice. I am so excited. Sunday morning i go back to the same stand trying to find this buck that has been eluding me and about 930 i look up to see a flock of about 10 rabbits scurry from the left side of the road to the right side and quickly. So i keep an eye out mind you this is about 30 yards in front of me this time. About 10 seconds later i see the head pop out and look and me and i cant believe it another bobcat but this one i can tell is a male so he steps out into the road and is watching me pretty seriously. He looks away and that gives me just enough time to get the gun out the window and so naturally..............

So needless to say now my initial idea for a mount is out the window and now i have to come up with a double mount idea.

Very cool. That will make a great mount. Get some rabbits or quail to throw in there up

Congrats!

Congrats on the two nice bobcats. You won't be happy when you find out how much they want to mount each of them.

I shot this one with my bow last week. This is the second one with a bow in two years (not quite as impressive as two in two days).

If you ain't hunting, you ain't living right.

I remember seeing yours. Pretty cat. Yes i have already been looking at prices hence they are still in the freezer. yeah i was pretty stunned when i saw the second one i mean i don't really know to much about them but from what i gather they aren't life partners and have a really big territory so to get 2 in 2 days at the same stand im not going to lie i was very proud of myself in what i view as a rare chance occurrence.

You could "mount" them trying to make baby bobcats...certainly be a conversation piece. peep

Snake Wrangler i will not lie to you that is exactly what i told my wife is i wanted to mount them "doing it" and she said absolutely not if i planned on having it at the house. So i said ok ill put it in my office which the boss man happens to be one of the other lease memebers and he thought it was funny but said i may need to keep a towel in my office to cover them up if i have a client in my office.

yeah roughly what i have found to get them done by someone where they actually come back looking like cats instead of cross eyed weirdos is going to run me about 1700-2000 depending on what habitat i go with.

You could always do a long sofa table style mount (long and narrow) with one on each end facing to the middle at a rattlesnake in full defensive coil at the center.

Put a badger or porcupine in the middle.....for that kind of money might as well make it top of the line kool!

For future reference, you can always edit your post with the little edit button in the bottom right instead of making a new post to correct your error in a prior post. Nice cats. Can't wait to see the final product.
