My dad and I and possibly a friend are looking to do a low fence/fair chase whitetail hunt in West or South Texas. There are so many to consider, but was hoping there would be some recommendations from this board for a good and hopefully successful experience. We currently hunt on a lease in Louisianan and want to experience a hunt in Texas.

I just hunted with frio county hunts Brian on here and they have a beautiful place in south texas, if you want to shoot native free range south texas deer at a reasonable prices I recommend them.

I will have some free range mngt buck hunts available just outside Sonora for this upcoming season. Will also have some MLD Level 3 buck hunts available on a ranch that is high fenced on 3 sides (still considered free range) that will also be available. www.westtexashuntorg.com

Lots of good outfitters out there. Do your homework and find the one that fits you best. I talked to Greg Simons at Wildlife Systems during the process of booking my hunt. Really good guy and has lots of good reviews. He offered a lot of South Texas hunts. You might want to check him out.
It's Hill Country and not South or West Texas but Lonnie Walker has some low fence stuff available. He'd be glad to talk to you about it I'm sure.

I should add that I chose Lonnie and Bear Creek because it was a much easier trip for us and his place fit my needs the best. I will do the high fence hunt with Lonnie again soon. It was much different than I expected it to be. I would also like to hunt the low fence stuff there as well. The South Texas hunt was just too far for us to travel given the time frame we had to hunt. I hope to do it some day but for now ALL my Texas deer trips will be to BEAR CREEK.
If I were hunting South Texas, Greg and Wildlife Systems would be my first call.

Great stuff guys. I really appreciate it. I should have made this post a long time ago. Just searching the interwebs was making my head hurt.
