I have a Remington M 37, 26 inch bull barrel, Redfield aperture with Lyman front switchable posts and circles. Gun is boringly accurate. Still have a brick of Winchester Western Target ammo that date back to the 1960's plus some older European stuff. Lot of fun at longer ranges.

I have no idea on a 22 that is designed for accuracy out of the box. Hard to imagine much vibration in a heavy barrel, harmonics or other, when shooting 22 lr. Most of the target ammo seems to run on the lower end of the velocity scale. If memory serves me correctly, most improvement in accuracy was with ammo selection, and inspection of each cartridge. Seems like Sinclair made some equipment specifically for the 22 lr, but once again, my memory doesn't work that well on distant subject. Back then the 22/250 was still a wildcat.

They still do, for sorting your rimfire rounds by rim thickness and length

Ammo IS very important and some loads are much better than others...but don't kid yourself. There are real differences between rifles when it comes to .22 LR accuracy.

Hopefully most will follow suit and drive prices back down where they belong.

Fortunately for me, I began amassing .22 LR ammo about 25 years ago. I still buy a little here and there to try out stuff, but I don't really need to do that. I could get by for 50 years, I think.

8-10 cents a piece is the norm right now for bulk. Lots of new unknown brand names

PSA has some on sale for shot show

I still have a 40x in .22 that I competed with years ago. It is without a doubt the most accurate .22 that I've personally owned or shot and the list includes Win 52's, Anschutz, Walthers and a few others. We had a grant at our sportsmans club to receive rifles and ammo from the DCM "Department of Civilian Marksmanship" It was amazing to come home to pallets of .22lr sitting in the garage or crates of model 52's, oh those were the days! We got countless kids into competitive shooting. As time went on I found bench rest 22 competition about as fun and difficult as any other shooting discipline.
