I have a buddy who needs some replacement mags for his Remington .45
What should I get him?
Sig Sauer P229 Elite, P226 Elite, SP2022 S&W Model 3 Win. Model 70's: 220 Swift, 270, 30.06, 300 Win Mag, 375 H&H Savage Model 99 250-3000 Colt 6920 Ruger 10-22 Swedish and Chilean Mausers Browning Citori White Lightning

1911? If so Chip McCormick or Wilson Combat.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I always run wilson combat These Here they are pricey but I have never had a problem with them. Walter

"Metalform" Get the welded base and the round follower. If you think I am wrong then ask Ed Brown Custom why this is the choice for their mags that they ship with their $3000+ guns. At one time you could get the round followers to replace the flat, don't know if that is still possible, ie, if anyone still sells just the round follower? Back in the 70's this was one of the recommended "fixes" for a troublesome mag. Wilson & McCormick are good mags, but sometimes higher costs do not equate to better product.
