Is this the best website for browsing land for sale to build a house on in various states? Anyone know another good website?
Lots of listings in there but hard to tell which would be good for building a home on.

Yep. Sure is.

Lower than a lot of others too

Your gotta remember that majority of Texas land is owned fee simple.

In states like Colorado and New Mexico you buy say 1000 acres you may only have title to 150 acres the rest is leased land from the blm and the state

The bundy ranch ordeal was because of blm he had title to a very small amount of acreage. This will affect price

LandBin is good in the states they cover which is MN and WI. I tend to Google, land for sale, in any state I'm interested in and look at the available sites.

I just want a minimum of 10 acres on a river or stream for no more (preferably much less) than 100k. This would be to live on. Lots in other states. Almost none in Texas.

I'd leave the state if I could find work though.

I would concentrate on far ne tx. Bowie, Cass etc counties. Did this about a year ago and spent 5 months looking before buying in Jack County. River or stream front for <$100k is going to be much more difficult to find.
