Just got a message that my Pops, 76.5 yo busted a very nice South Texas 10pt. on this last afternoon hunt. Nothing like sealing the deal on the last hunt of general season. He's gone empty handed the past 2 seasons and this past year saw him have a double bypass surgery and is now on kidney dialysis so I am very, very happy for him. Will try and post some pics as become available.

The story gets even better. Pops tells me that the buck came out with about 10 minutes of legal shooting light left and he dropped the hammer on it from about 150 yards, DRT. Supposedly my older brother snap'd some pics and has sent them. I will try and post some pics later today. Hearing this new additional information makes me even happier for Pops!

Pics are now here. Age estimated at 5yo, spread 18". The bucks have been pretty rutted down so bodies are quite a bit smaller than 2 months ago. Couldn't be more proud of my old Pops...

Finally got a chance to talk to Pops today and he was very happy with his buck. Having it processed into some jerky, dry sausage and deer steaks. I better stop as I'm getting hungry. I appreciate all the nice comments and words and know Pops would as well, thanks!
