Dad had a nickel one years ago. They are pretty neat little guns and pretty good quality as well. Still prefer the Ruger Single Six as a shooter though. The Double Nine is much more scarce and there are some die hard collectors that will pay premium for ones in nice condition.

A friend had one years ago. It was O.K. but it had a weird loading gate. Never could get used to idea of a double action "version" of a single action ...just seemed too strange. He didn't keep it long.

Anyone have one? Thoughts? Yes, I have two of the Sentinels w/6" barrels in .22 and love them. I had a thread going on here for a while looking for several more (picked up one) but finally gave up finding another for a while (no biters). I don't want them for high dollar collectible items, I carry mine with me almost everywhere in the field. Good shooting light weight reliable revolvers and like having the option of double action if needed. I would like to find 3 more of them so that all of my kids will have one.

He didn't keep it long. Big Mistake. I was thinking of a single action "type" model that H&R produced in the '70s. NOT the High Standard. Sorry about that. I remember the Double Nine but have experience only with the Sentinel Mark III. I owned one for a short time.

It is as tight and accurate as my Ruger Super Single Six.
We love it.
It DOES NOT having a firing pin block. Hammer down on empty chamber....Makes it an 8 shot, notnine.

Thanks guys. I'm working a trade on one. Had never heard of them before. It's nickel and supposedly 98%. I'll post up pics if the trade goes through.
