If it had been there that long, wouldn't the tree be the same age? Not sure the photo shows that.

I could only see the picture in the video. I don't think the rifle was in that exact spot for that long but it had definitely been there longer than a few years.

It's probably a 132yr old rifle all right... but I highly doubt if it's been leaning against that tree for that long...but very interesting and a neat find none the less!

My Brother in law found an old H&R top break 32 while hiking in Colorado and gave it to me for Christmas. The following Christmas we ran into the former sheriff and had coffee with him (he was in his 70's then) We told him about the old gun and he told us of a guy that shot someone down in Denver in an argument in a bar and took off running. This back in the early 1900s. They caught the guy, gave him a trial and hung him. He'd supposedly shot the victim with a 'chrome' 32 caliber pistol.
Don't know if my pistol is his pistol but the canyon where my BIL found the handgun is where they caught the guy.

Pay it forward - Kids are the future.

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

Juniper trees grow very slowly. They also grow outward, not upward. Trees gain height at the top only. How many cool things have you seen that have grown into trees while out and about?

Who said it's been there that long?

It just says the rifle was made that long ago. It was probably sat there and lost when it had some years on it

I have an old double barrel shotgun as a wall hanger in the Man Cave that my son's friend dug up while bulldozing an old oak stump in a deserted farm house yard. No telling how long it had been there. The stock was broken but had it repaired. Conversation piece.
