Why would a pumper be away from a rig looking for stuff?

Pumpers don't sit by one "rig" all day long. They travel to many different producing wells, injection wells, and batteries. They cover a lot of area.

Most people that have been working in the patch for any length of time are honest guys and don't want to lose their job for hunting or theft. They leave that up to the meth heads and I would wager that mbavo is the honest type. I know he has great eyes for photography.

This is not my stuff. It is a few things that are hung up on a fence by an Oil Company field office. It is out in public. I think it is a lost and found section.

That's called junk not stolen property! If you put value on it then that would be hoarding.

We also have a fence on our place that we hang stuff that we have found out and about. Our place is on the Great Western Trail route, the creek washes up stuff regularly. But we will find the oddest things out in the middle of the woods (usually while shed hunting) and wonder "how did that get here?" The kids call it treasure hunting. They usually find bottles and old cans, but occasionally they will find a horse shoe or a piece of an old wagon.

IDK the situation on this post.

But, as a landowner, I would be pretty dang ticked to know folks on my property only authorized by law to be working were taking anything off of my land. One of the things I love is finding "junk", deer/animal skulls, etc. on my land.

It's not anyone's prerogative but mine to decide what is a neat find and what is "junk". Obviously, whoever is putting that stuff on the fence thinks it has a story to tell.

I have learned the hard way that many (if not most) people who have access to your land will pretty much do as they please if you are not with them.

It could be the land owner or his ranch hands picked it up and put it up on the fence. Give me a break, I don't see see any high dollar artifacts hanging there.
