Thanks for the well wishes. Arrived this afternoon and just had a great dinner. Looking forward to getting up tomorrow and putting in some scouting to find a nice one.

Great first day. Lot of spotting and getting a feel for a ranch. End of day, spotted a 30-32" ram halfway up the hillside from 2 miles away. Put a stalk on him but ran out of daylight to get close enough. Backed out and noted where that ram and another bedded down and heading back out now to try our luck. One of the other gents on the trip took a 27" aoudad yesterday though, so not all for naught. Saw quite a few Mulies as well. I'll get the pics posted once I have proper service and can do so.

Finally back to land of cell service. So Saturday, did a lot of glassing and checking out the hot spots with no luck. Saw a ton of activity and signs but just could not get on the Rams unfortunately. The third member of the group got a nice one though with great mass that carried through on a 66 yard shot. He had walked down a wash and then climbed on top, peaked over and bam. Nice ram down. So, Sunday it was on. We went back to some canyons where the first Ram had been taken on Friday and immediately spotted a really nice ewe and baby. Minutes later the guide saw 4 big Rams crossing the peak in a line. Big ol chaps on the leader and the follow up was a really big old ram with huge mass. Since they went over the peak, we glassed to see if they were going after the ewe but never appeared. So the hike was on. We got up to the top in about an hour and half and immediately spotted another huge ewe that we we thought was a ram at first but it too had a baby (different though than the first which we could still see). No sign of the ram. After glassing for 3 hours and searching every ridge and nook and overhang, we came down. Bad news though as another guide saw the 4 we were after two peaks over. They just never stopped walking and kept going. So unfortunately no ram this trip, but already talked to Mike and have another planned. Got some great photos (will try to post them on here if I can figure it out) and a great time overall. Can't wait to get back out and out the hammer down on one.

They can be very easy or very hard and everything in between. We hunted them a lot when I had ranches in val verde co.

Glad you had fun and are going back. Good luck!
