I am thinking about to start using a type a sizing die with the bushing to get consistent next tension. If you are using one how do you decided what bushing to get?

Thanks.

If a nonbushing die will provide you with the neck tension that shoots don't spend the extra $. You will get a better more consistent neck tension from those than you will from the neck bushings. Many of the real benchrest (short range uber accurate) use a bushing to figure out which neck measurement they want then custom order a die from Harrell's Precision setup that way. Their reason is they say less runout with a FL custom necked die versus a bushing die.

Having said all of that I use a bushing die on everything except 2 rifles. I also like a Whidden die better than Redding's and he's cheaper too (they both use the same bushings).

Good luck.

Judd I get pretty good accuracy now. And I use a redding full size die. And I bump the shoulder two thousands each time. So you don't think it will be beneficial over a regular die. Either way I will be fl sizing. Not just neck sizing.

if you're just going to FL sizing then skip the bushing route

Based upon what I saw on your 800y plate I wouldn't. But if you are like me and wanting something to mess with to see if you can get a little bit more it won't hurt anything and you might find something slightly better but based on that target you don't have a whole lot left to find.

My opinion....next rifle I would buy the Whidden FL sizer w/ bushing and work with it. I know you've talked about pairing down but no one can just have one rifle. Heck I'm always thinking about the "next build" smile

I hear you. Just lean another batch through the ss media tonight and sized and primed and powered another batch while those we're cleaning. Gonna seat them tomorrow. I have another build in my mind two actually. But it will be along while until I can afford to do it. Growing up sucks. And I don't have near the disposable income I used too... But I really like to shot this one.
