Why does it seem that 22 MAG rifles cost as much as other larger calibers? Are they more rare?

$200-$250 last I checked. I would expect to pay more for a larger caliber. Granted, I haven't looked in awhile

Thanks txhntr. Maybe my judgement is skewed. Seems like I see many at 375-400 Maybe those are Henry's, not sure.

For the mag, I have always like Marlin. Think you can still pick them up new for $250 give or take. I bought one many moons ago for $89 and it shoots lights out. My favorite rabbit gun, but think it got replaced this year by a .17 that a buddy made me a great offer on.

Depends a lot on the maker of the 22Mag rifles. Lots of makers the Mag is more expensive but they do not make as many 22 Mags as say 22LR. As far as centerfire compared to the 22Mag, high priced 22 Mags are about the same as mid to low priced centerfires and in some cases cheaper.

Take CZ for instance the very nice and accurate 455 rimfires are hundreds less than the 527s.

Like said above some good 22mags can be found for 200 to 300.

thanks kmon1 and txshntr. Maybe I should post for a WTB in the classifieds. I have some mag ammo and only a single six to shoot it from.

I have a Ruger American. Pretty good shooter for a .22 mag.
