Picked up a Jed brake for my 243 and it really takes the kick out. Like shooting a 22 now. Cleaned the gun really good this morning then took it to the range to foul it in. I'm not much of a bench shooter but here it is.

After shooting about 20 rounds it settled back down. Had to change the wind age .2 mils to get back to center then shout the group in the top left of the shoot and see. On the first shot the little dot fell off so I lost of aiming point. The. Shot the five dot drill on the next shoot and see. Works for me.

Thanks guys. I'm not much of a group shooter off a bench do must better with groups from prone. But I don't really care to shoot groups much. Rather shoot steel. The rifle is a custom.

Stiller action
Aw mags
Huber two stage trigger
Brux barrel 1-8 twist
Manners t2a stock with extra goodies on it.
Us optics sn3 tpal scope

Built by Scott Weichel

Load is
Lapua brass
Fed 210m
H4350
Berger 105 hybrid
3050 fps

It doesn't do too bad.

Quite the velocity on that bullet. That's some stout medicine for a 6mm.

Yes it is. It is a warm load but it shoots great so that is what I run. Both deer and the ram I shot were all done within 30 feet. One of them was drt.

Scott builds a heck of a rifle. He has spun up two barrels for me.

Was your gun already threaded? If not do you have to re cerakote it? I've thought about adding one

It was already threaded when I built the rifle, so he just had to time and install it. The break is SS but I did not have him cerakote it yet since the match is next week and I didn't want to rush him, but I will have him coat it when I have some down time.

Got out today and shot out to 800. Good time on the range and some more nice practice. I really can't get over how little of kick there is now with the brake. Watching the bullet impact the plate and then hearing the ring is about the best thing there is.

Here is the 800 yard target bottom round was second shot to get on plate then the top were the follow ups. There was about 5-8 Mph winds. Can't ask for a better day of shooting.

Dialed 5.1 mils. And held 1 mil for wind. Coming from the left to right.

Walter, you've just about convinced me to put a break on my .243. I'm new to this and Jason mentioned it, I never really saw the impact during our session....just the steel being moved but not the impact. Would like to talk about it at Jason's in a couple weeks.

Let me know and we can talk about it. I was watching impacts at 200 with the brake there is virtually no recoil. I still have some work to do in form and follow through but I'm sure Jason can help with that when I can work everything out to take his class.
You are more than welcome to shoot it after the match if you like to see what it is like.
