Anybody have any experience with leatherwood? I havnt heard anybody talk about them. I'm shopping for a new scope for a rifle build. I've got about a $300 or under budget for a scope. That's my budget, not interested in spending more than that at this time. Came across leatherwood on swfa's website. This one looks pretty good. It's mil reticle which is what I'm looking for. Rifle is mostly for hunting, but I do have a desire to learn to shoot at greater distances, so I want something that is capable of target shooting at 500-700 yards which is basically the longest shot I can set up at our place.

I guess MoA is all I'm going to find in my price range. I've been leaning vortex from the get go, til I thought that leatherwood was mil. I think this is what I'm going to go with.

And comments on the vortex crossfire II?

If you don't mind a fixed power look at the SWFA SS non HD models. I've had the 10x and use a 12x now on my 308. They also have them in 6x as well. They come in MOA and MRAD models. Think they are 299 for the rear focus MRAD model.

Mil or MOA can be used, but windage is easier to remember in Mil. I prefer Mil, but can use either one.

Have you looked at the Falcon Menace?
I have a one that is 4 x 14 x 44 FFP that works pretty well and also tracks well. You can get in MOA / MOA and MILL / MIll.
Little heavy though.

I shoot one of the swfa Super snipers and its a killer scope for the money.
I have been thinking about upgrading a little.
