Looking to load these two bullets in the new 300 and wondering if anyone has any data or luck reloading them. I have lots of 4831SC but been thinking either IMR7828 or Win 780

For that weight of bullet I'm thinking the 4831SC would be the better option for you.
Depending on what your doing with them, I wouldn't recommend either of those bullets. I have shot the 165 GMX's out of a 300 wby max loads and if you don't hit heavy bone they wouldn't expand reliably. I think the 165 SST's would be a grenade at 300 WM velocities. All what you want out of a bullet I guess.

My son shot a cow elk at 300 yds with 165gr GMXs out of his 300 Win mag and had great results. About 4 feet of penetration. Can't help with load data because they were factory superformance loads but I can recommend the bullet.

I think the GMX will work fine. I used to shoot factory superformance GMX out of my 308's before I got into hand loading and they always performed well even when shot out of a 16 inch 308 AR. Shot a bunch of hogs and several deer with em and they always seemed to open up properly.

I tried the 165 SST's out of my 300. First shot was a Texas whitetail at approximately 140 yards. Left a 5" exit hole. Look at the GMX or as the other poster stated, the Nosler Accubonds or similar bonded bullet.

My 300Wm loves the 165 Accubond. I shot a good KS buck with it a few years ago at fairly close range. I was quite pleased with its performance; good expansion and complete penetration. I don't remember the load off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure 7828 would be too slow for that light bullet weight.

IMO, IMR 4831 would be a good one, or IMR 4350. Maybe something like Accurate Mag Pro or RE 22 would be worth a try as well.

Not to hijack the thread, but what do y'all think about H1000 for this weight bullet?

Probably also too slow. That's what I use for 180gr loads.

For years I shot RL-22 in my 300 Win mag. Tried RL-25 and never looked back. Gives @ 100fps more then RL-22 and just as accurate. I shoot 165 Accubonds with 82.5gr of RL-25, CCI250 primers and Winchester brass.

Mainly using my 300 for mule deer in pretty open country. I have a box of factory GMX that I will try when I get the gun bedded. Will try powders that I have on hand, H4831 SC and 4350. I've been shooting Hornady's 150 Whitetail ammo building up brass. This stuff shoots great in my gun. I wouldn't hesitate on shooting anything in Texas with it.
