What do gunsmiths charge these days to install a recoil pad (not counting the pad cost)?

Is it going into a stock that has never had a recoil pad on it? If it has one on it now, just find one that fits.

$60 plus cost of pad. Another $50 if it's a limbsaver.

Thanks! What about a limbsaver makes it more expensive to install?

Nothing really...that's more my way of saying I don't like installing them to my customers. Rubber is too soft and leads to issues in the grinding process and issues down the road.

Thanks, but I don't like the looks of a slip-on.

Of the recoil pads I have, preference is Decelerator and Kick-ez. Both grind to fit better than Limbsavers. I do have a couple limbsavers on shotguns with synthetic stocks but those were "fit" to just screw on.

One I have not tried RWH24 has it in his sigline, might check with them.

Some limbsavers are prefit for certain stocks. I love my Kick-eez pads. Same stuff used in shoe in-soles..
