Central Texas, in Limestone County, is where I am. Didn't see deer yesterday, which is odd, but they were out in force this evening. The big 9 point that I've seen off and on this year is still alive and needs love. I'd have shot him, but I'm hoping for a better rack next year. An 8 point I'd never seen before also showed up. Ugly small rack. Does were running all over and the bucks were chasing. Heck, I had thought the rut was over.

If you guys want to watch bucks, get one of those whirlygig things from Primos. It has fur and feathers on top, and spins. That young 8 point must have spent 15 minutes circling and sniffing that thing. It was hilarious. Buck after buck has been attracted to that thing. But not one d___ coyote has shown up yet to look at it.

Not my monkeys, not my circus...

I had some similar experiences this past weekend. Had 2 bachelor groups of young bucks and tons of chasing going on. Also, I drive for fedex around the mills/callahan/comanche county area and have seen several bucks chasing does. Seems like everytime I see a doe run across the road theres a big guy right behind her.

Im heading out on doe patrol this weekend. Im sure Ill see the big guy I was after all season lol
